Ashchurch to Tewkesbury & Upton on Severn (15 tickets).
A favourite branch line of my dad's - when he passed on in 1987 he was writing a book on it and had amassed a substantial amount of material. In 2001 this was used by our long-standing friend David Postle from the Kidderminster Railway Museum to write an article on the Ashchurch to Malvern branch, it duly appeared in the October 2001 issue of Steam Days.
By 1961 there was only one passenger train per day between Tewkesbury and Upton on Severn on most days!!
7th August 1961, the date of issue of many of these tickets, was Bank Holiday Monday and my dad was not at work. The last passenger trains ran on 12th August 1961 when we were on our way to Bude, Cornwall for the family holiday, the movie film taken on the last day was filmed for my dad by his friend Maurice Cooper.
