Examples Of The Tape Used.

The tape is wound on plastic reels which range in size from the small 3" diameter ones, with perhaps 300' of tape on, up to the big 7" ones containing about 2400'; although the actual amount on any reel depends on if it's single, double or triple play. Equally the length of time of the recordings depends on the tape speed used at the time - mostly either (in inches per second) 7.5, 3.75 or 1.875. To complicate matters the actual tape recorders themselves could be single, double or four track.
